Trout Creek Burn Dump. Truckee Dump. Euer Valley Road, Truckee

image not foundDescription: Truckee Sanitary District operated c. 1929 to 1940 or 1945. Most of the metal was recycled for the World War II effort 1941 - 1945. It was burned by the USFS to prevent forest fires.

Notes: Original image is 3.3 MB. Photo from the private collection of Tony Pace and Sharon Pace Arnold. Arnold also notes that the remaining dump was buried by Sha Neva and Teichert Corporation during the mining of the Red Rock Quarry c. 1965 to 1972 - a "sleeping dinosaur" for over 40 years until 2014.
