Notes: HCS 5/8/2025. Original image is 3.2 MB. DDC0062 is the original photo of one that has been used for years regarding the history of the Lake Tahoe Railway and Transportation Company. It has been erroneously identified as the end of the era; after Southern Pacific abandoned the line in 1943. In fact, this is an image of the railbed BEFORE the LTR&TCo line was laid. See also DDC0062. Courtesy of Claude AI, image was determined to be of the railbed BEFORE track laying, circa 1898-1900. Woman's clothing in DDC0067 suggests it was late 19th century, and NOT after 1943 when the railbed was removed for WWII scrap metal.
