Description: 4th of July Parade float at school. Susan Y. emailed us to inform us that the little girl in the top of the image just behind the woman in the white dress holding the reins is a blond little girl, Susan Y.'s grandmother. Her name was Marie Eleanora Irene Torson. The photo was taken about 1904-05. She grew up in Truckee and was the daughter of Johanna and Matt Torson who owned the Torson House (a boarding house for travelers located on River St.) For more details, see an August 21, 1907 cdnc.ucr.edu article.
