Ice Palace

image not foundDescription: First Ice Palace toboggan slide; note men standing around at top of slide and at bottom with various horse-drawn sled carriages; note Truckee Hotel in back right. Toboggan slide first Ice Palace; note 5 men standing at top of toboggan slide. The Toboggan slide was affixed to the Ice Palace's exterior. The entire structure was built on the town's plaza enabling long-skirted ladies of the 1890s to easily walk to the skating rink from hotels or the excursion Pullman railroad train cars.
