Notes: Original is 15.3 MB. Franzini's Fountain Saloon and Lunch Counter. Shows door labelled Ladies Entrance (for Lunch Counter), Six men standing in front of building. Advertisement sign for Lunch Counter, open all night $.25 cents a meal. See also EGH0018. Backside of a post card in a set named Truckee stated that "P. Franzini was one of the many Italians who moved to Truckee, and specifically into Chinatown, once the Chinese were driven from River Street. During Prohibition, it was said that the Italians were allowed to make their own wine down on River Street. Franzini's operated as the other 'soda fountains' in town did." Look on blackboard in back of man on far left - date shows 1912.
